In therapy, you can expect that I will maintain a safe and welcoming environment. I am patient and respect your willingness to share what current or past challenges have presented for you when you are comfortable. As we explore these challenges, I will use questions and reflections to try to experience your challenges with you so that I can gain a greater understanding of what your experiences have been like. If your goals are to change any challenges, we can create a plan based on how you would like to see these changes unfold. If you are unsure of where to start, I can help and we can work as a team to identify the best route on your journey of continued growth.
I have a certification in trauma counseling with experience using Progressive Counting techniques and the Trauma, Recovery, and Empowerment (TREM) Model. I am also a Certified Advanced Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CAADC) with training in Motivational Interviewing and Medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
Additional trainings/skills: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Nonviolent Communication (NVC), and Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT).
